Fasting Friday

CONGRATULATIONS on your willingness and commitment to Fast on Friday during the month of January, along with your church family! 2020 is our BREAKOUT Year and through prayer and fasting, we prioritize our spiritual life and position ourselves to walk the walk of faith in a greater way.

Simply stated, Biblical fasting is refraining from food for a spiritual purpose.

There are different ways to fast. For the Fasting Fridays, we encourage you to do a full fast (consuming only water), since it’s only one day.
However, the type of fast you may choose to do is between you and God. Although it may involve sacrifice, fasting is not about the sacrifice. It’s about the attitude in your heart and your faith and expectation.

If you complete the fast or not, if you commit to this or not… know that God loves you PERIOD! This fast benefits you. It will get you closer to God and more in tune to spiritual things. It will help you control the flesh so that you can have victory in the spirit. But know this; it does not make God love you more or less! This fast will only benefit you and our church because we are getting closer to God by disciplining our flesh and mind to the things of God.

Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. Matthew 6:33 MSG

* If you have any known medical conditions or suspect such conditions, consult your doctor before beginning the fast. This fast is voluntary and is in no way a mandatory action for our church.
  • The confessions are a template for you to use. Please read the Scripture references after you are finished.

Father, I want to thank you for my Break Out year! I know that fasting does not make you love me more, because you love me greatly either way. Fasting is for my benefit and it strengthens my spiritual walk.

Join us on the first Sunday of the month, as we gather together to pray for our church, our community, and our world. 6-7 PM | Love Life Auditorium
